Veterinarians are used to seeing sick and injured animals every single day, however, one Russian veterinarian was left completely stunned by what one good samaritan brought through the clinic’s doors.
According to the good samaritan, he discovered an injured dog on the street that appeared to be in pain and wasn’t moving. When he got closer, he realized three of her paws were missing and her nose had been cut off. He knew she would die if she didn’t get help, and carried her to a nearby clinic in Buryatia.
Once inside, the Vet, staff, and volunteers all couldn’t believe the state the poor dog was in, especially because all the cut looked to be intentional. “It looks like she was butchered. The cuts are very precise, the one who did it cut her joints like a professional butcher,” said Yekaterina, a volunteer at the clinic. “The dog is deeply stressed and shocked. She shows signs of being afraid whenever a man approaches, so probably the one who tortured her was a man,” Yekaterina added
Luckily, however, the team is giving the scared dog, who they named Druzhok, the help she desperately needs and they expect her to recover from her injuries. So far, the team has treated the wounds in her paws, and are keeping Druzhok, which means ‘little friend’ in Russian, covered in bandages so that she can’t lick the wounds. And to make sure she recovers, the team has been raising money to pay for her medicine and any future treatment.
